As part of the Unpacked Samsung presented its new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. These terminals arrived to set the bar for the high end of 2024 at the top, but they were not the only new features presented by Samsung at its event, which was loaded with Artificial Intelligence. It has also been possible to know the phones that will receive the update to One UI 6.1.
List of Samsung phones that will update to One UI 6.1
Rumors that have surfaced over the past few weeks indicated that One UI 6.1 would be one of the biggest changes for Samsung phones. The integration of AI would turn these devices into tools with potential never before seen in Samsung's high-end.
It was even leaked that it would not be necessary to have a Samsung Galaxy S24 to enjoy these features. Now with the official list of devices that will update to One UI 6.1, we can know completely how the deployment of this new version of One UI will be.
List of cell phones that will update to One UI 6.1:
- Samsung Galaxy S23
- Samsung Galaxy S23+
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S9
All of the above devices will receive One UI 6.1 in the first half of the year. Samsung has not specified the dates by which the update will arrive on each device, but has put a target date of June 2024 for One UI 6.1 to land in the form of a global update.
Although this move is interesting, the most striking thing is that Galaxy AI will not be exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S24. No explanations have yet been given about how Samsung will bring the new AI features to the rest of the devices.
In addition, not all AI features will reach the rest of Samsung's devices. Much information is still missing about the plans that the South Korean firm has for 2024 concerning its devices launched in later years.
While Samsung clarifies this situation, all we can do is wait patiently. It is noteworthy that in the list of phones that will update to One UI 6.1, there is no mention of the mid-range, maybe Samsung will give more information as the months progress.
Samsung's new series of high-end terminals is already here and, now, it has to demonstrate its full potential. Comparisons are odious, but the AI may not be enough for both the Galaxy S24 and S24+ to convince users, although the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a harder time.
